Repeat any text up to 10,000 times with your choice of separator, numbering, prefix and suffix, then copy or download it.
Good testing needs realistic volume: tables with hundreds of rows, fields filled to their limit, text that refuses to wrap. Generating that by hand is tedious. A text repeater gets you there in seconds. Here are practical recipes for designers, developers and QA testers.
Layout stress tests
Long unbreakable strings
Repeat a word with no separator to create a string with no spaces:
TestTestTestTestTestTestTest…
Paste it into a heading, card title, table cell or username field. If it overflows its container, you need overflow-wrap: anywhere (or word-break) in your CSS.
Very long content
Repeat a full sentence 200–500 times with a space separator to create a huge paragraph. Check:
- scrolling and sticky headers
- “read more” truncation
- performance when rendering long text
Many short items
Repeat Item 100 times with numbering and a new line separator to fill a list and test pagination, virtual scrolling and keyboard navigation.
Form and validation tests
Exact-length strings
Repeat a single character to hit a precise length:
| Test | Settings |
|---|---|
| Max length 255 | a × 255, no separator |
| Over the limit (256) | a × 256, no separator |
| 10,000-character comment | a × 10,000, no separator |
The result counter confirms the exact length; the word counter shows character counts with and without spaces.
Multi-line inputs
Repeat Line 50 times with a new line separator to test textareas, auto-grow behaviour and line-count limits.
Special characters
Repeat strings containing quotes, emoji, accents or right-to-left text, such as "O'Brien" — café 😀 مرحبا, to catch encoding and escaping bugs.
Tables and data grids
Build CSV rows by repeating a template line:
Text: Jane Doe,jane@example.com,Active
Separator: New line
Count: 1,000
Download as .txt, rename it to .csv, and import it to test table rendering, sorting and export. For varied values, generate a few different templates and combine them. See Build Lists for Spreadsheets and Code With a Text Repeater for more formats.
Search and highlighting
Repeat a keyword inside filler text to test search result highlighting and counts:
Text: lorem target ipsum, count = 50, separator = space. Search for “target” and expect 50 matches.
File and upload limits
Repeat a 1,000-character line to build text files of known size:
- 1,000 repeats → about 1 MB
- 2,000 repeats of a 1,000-character line hits the tool’s ~2-million-character cap
Use Download .txt to save. For image upload limits, resize real images to specific dimensions with the image resizer.
Why not just copy-paste?
Manual copy-paste is slow, inexact and hard to reproduce. With a repeater you can note the settings (“a × 256”) in your test case and anyone can regenerate exactly the same input.
